Springtime is finally upon us and with nice weather and longer days comes a whole host of festivals to Boston! There’s something for everyone coming up; from art to music and food, you’re sure to be able to find a festival you’ll love!
Flash Forward Festival : May 1 – 8 (Cambridge). This annual festival celebrates local and international photography and artists. Enjoy 8 evenings of free programming including lectures, galleries, indoor and outdoor galleries.
Franklin Park Coalition Kite & Bike Festival : May 14th (Dorchester). This annual family centric festival will once again make its way to Franklin Park the Saturday after Mother’s day. Bring a kite and a bike or grab them at the festival and enjoy a day outside with local families. This free event will also feature bike tours of the park, food trucks and craft vendors!
HarpoonFest: May 20- 21st (Harpoon Brewery). Kick off your summer right with the 2016 HarpoonFest! Located in the Seaport District, the Harpoon Brewery will be serving up 6 of their most delicious beers, Harpoon pretzels, and food from Lucky’s Lounge and The Sausage Guy. While you’re sipping on your beer, you can enjoy live music played by local Boston Bands. Rain or shine this festival is sure to be a fantastic day, just don’t forget your ID!
Boston Calling : May 27-29th (Boston). This local favorite has been ranked as one of the 10 best music festivals in the US. Returning for it’s 4th year, expect to see big names in music such as Sia, Disclosure and Odseza. Although it’s a bit pricy, we’ll help you save on parking for this can’t miss summer event!
Cambridge River Festival : June 4th (Cambridge). The Cambridge River Arts Festival features local music, as well as theater and dance on 6 different stages. In addition to this there will be poetry tents, a sculpture race, and local artwork that will be available for purchase. It was recently named one of the top 15 art happenings in Greater Boston, so mark your calendars for a full day of celebration of the arts in Cambridge.
