Well, here we are in the last month of summer. Why not go out with a bang? June and July flew by, and you probably haven’t had a had a chance to take advantage of living in Boston, but now’s your chance. If you’re looking for events in Boston this month, check out these August HotSPOTs:
Boston Comic Con: Stop ignoring your inner nerd and allow yourself to geek out this August at Boston’s Comic Con. Head to the Seaport District, and enjoy a Q&A session with some of your favorite celebrities including “Game of Thrones'” very own Jason Momoa. Enjoy panels for comics and video games, and indulge in the convention’s costume contests. If that’s not enough, make sure you checkout the Cosplay Boston Harbor Cruise, or the costume parade through Faneuil Hall. Get more information about tickets, day passes, or VIP day passes, here.
Battle of the Burger: Besides vegetarians, who doesn’t love a good burger? Make your mouth water with Boston Magazine’s 5th annual Battle of the Burger. Before the event, vote for the chefs and restaurants you think have the best burger in the city. The top 25 vote recipients will compete live at the event on August 10th. The winner will head to annual event in Miami. Best part about the event? Attendees will be able to sample each burger and place their vote in real time. For more information, click here.
BostonFest 2016: We all love Boston, right? Right. Let’s celebrate one of the best places in the world to live this month at BostInno’s BostonFest. On August 11, head The Seaport World Trade Center, and indulge in local food trucks, live music, lawn games, and local employers. What’s not to love? Beach Please: Nothing says summer like a trip to the beach, so why not spend your last month of the season on some of New England’s finest sand and salt water? Most people don’t associate cities with beaches, but don’t let the metropolitan areas of Boston convince you of a lack of nature. Whether it’s Revere or M Street, make sure to soak up some sun on the beaches of Boston. Best part about it? Most beaches in Boston are accessible by T. Taco Time: Who doesn’t love margaritas and burritos? What about rooftop bars? Felipe’s Taqueria in Harvard Square has both, and so much more. Before Boston’s cold temperatures and harsh winds return, hop on the Red Line and take advantage of all Felipe’s has to offer. The best part about having fun at this Cambridge taco haven is the absence of a hefty price tag. (Burritos are only $4!) The margaritas are strong, the music is authentic, and the atmosphere screams “This is a place for Boston’s young professionals!” Whether you’re going on a date, or hanging out with friends after work, Felipe’s is the place to be.
To The Ballgame: If you haven’t been to a Red Sox game at Fenway, are you really a Bostonian? Baseball season isn’t over at the end of the summer, but why wait until you get busier in the fall? This month, take a trip to Fenway to indulge in the sport fandom, beer, and hotdogs that make America, but specifically Boston, so great. If you’re only in Boston for the summer, a day at The Green Monster is a fantastic way to wrap up your time here. Throw on some Red Sox gear, and scream until your heart’s content.
